I've used this machine at least twice a day every day for the last 15 months and it's consistently great. I guess a lot of customers noted this so Breville made a "Dosing Funnell" which is like $20 available at most stores and I highly recommend it. The grinding mechanism is very, very simple and effective but it can get messy before you get a chance to tamp the grounds. Cleaning is easy and cathartic, to be honest! But for the quality of coffee it produces I think that short burst of mechanical hum is more than acceptable. ![]() The frothing wand works really well, although some might find it a little noisy. It comes with different metal filters for both whole beans and ground coffee, as well as all the cleaning stuff you need to get started. It's really well designed and built, and all the parts feel deliberate and crafted with care. Straight out of the box it's pretty much plug and pay, and super user-friendly. I would have paid for it myself, it's so good. A coffee machine was the first thing on my list for my new apartment, and my wonderful sister bought this for me as a house-warming gift. ![]()
